The Witch's Trails & World Cup Downhill

The Witch's Trails offer 35km of riding in Leanachan Forest. A combination of singletrack and forest road, most of the trails are of an easy, green-graded standard, with some blue-graded and red-graded trails in the area of the World Cup Circuit.

The main area of singletrack takes you along the dismantled tramway at Coille Leanachain, then follows the line of The Cour all the way down to Spean Bridge. Use a combination of the trail map Witch's trail, Fort Williamand directional arrows within the forest to navigate your way around.

Much of the route can be done at a slower pace and difficult sections can be missed out. This is a trail that can be ridden within your own abilities.

Downhill fans are also catered for with the internationally acclaimed downhill track. The Nevis Range gondolas take cyclists and their bikes to an altitude of 2150ft from where there is a 2000ft descent back to the car park, on a 3km long track. The track is steep and fierce in places and is only recommended for skilled riders.

Visit the forestry commission's Leanachan pages for more information on the Witch's trails or the Nevis Range website for more on the World Cup downhill track.
